Have you ever dreamed of escaping to a restful guest bedroom on the picturesque Scottish Island, with beautiful wallcoverings, eye catching design pieces and stunning view? Well, Sophie has made that dream a reality in her lovely home on the Isle of Bute. She has created a stunning guest room featuring my Bloomsbury Moth wallpaper. But that's not all - she has added some local flair with design elements sourced from Bute Fabrics Ltd.

What makes Bute so special?
Situated within the Firth of Clyde, Bute is a hidden gem steeped in history. From heather-covered moorland to sweeping beaches, the island offers a diverse range of landscapes that serve as a constant source of inspiration for local artisans.
Texture, Colour & interest
Using a limited colour palette, Sophie has created a room with texture, visual interest by layering want seem to be disparate patterns and textures. However, as they are all are within a limited colour palette, the room doesn't feel overwhelming, but calming and restful. It is considered and interesting. Sophie used my Bloomsbury Moth wallpaper as a backdrop, and complemented it with stunning design elements, creating a room full of texture.
I love how she has used a gray blue above the picture rail that is reminiscence of stormy seas and Scottish skies. And how she has used the easy chair, lampshade and throw to pull out colours from the wallpaper, and the bedlinen. The bark blue curtains and matching walls around the window create a frame for the view and balance the wallpaper and bedding.
It's in the design details - who are Bute Fabrics Ltd?
