Almost a year ago, the lovely Miriam ordered a sample of my Hemlock wallpaper in ‘Catkin’—and later took the plunge with full rolls and had them shipped all the way to Virginia in the US.
Fast forward to last week, and I had the absolute joy of receiving an email update from her, complete with stunning photos of her beautifully renovated kitchen.
Miriam wrote:
“We finally finished our renovations, and I have some pictures to share with you.”
She also shared a delightful anecdote about how the wallpaper became the clear winner:
“When auditioning various wallpaper samples (using friends, family, and quilt guild members as sounding boards), it was a favourite pick. But when I explained about the poisonous plant angle, every woman insisted that it was the only choice for my kitchen!”
It’s always fascinating to hear what draws people to my designs, and I love that Miriam embraced the mischievous beauty of Hemlock! She went on to describe the warm and inviting colour palette she chose for her space:
“Butter yellow beadboard wainscoting and cabinets, dark butcher board counters, and honey oak floors finish off the warm space I want.”
And let’s not forget Chase, her gorgeous dog, who makes an appearance in one of the photos—always a bonus!
Miriam also shared her thoughts on the installation process:
“The wallpaper is a huge hit, even winning over the sceptical carpenters. It was very easy to put up, too. Thank you again for making my kitchen amazing and for the inspiration you gave me.”
Hearing this absolutely made my day! Thank you, Miriam, for sharing your journey, for believing in the vision behind my wallpaper, and for bringing Hemlock into your beautiful home.
