Wallpaper FAQs
How do I hang your wallpaper?
That is an excellent question! Please have a read of our Wallpaper Hanging Instructions
Do I apply the paste to the wallpaper or do I paste the wall?
April Mawhinney's wallpaper is a non-woven high quality luxury paper and requires that you apply the paste to the wall, and not to the wallpaper. This is much less messy and a much more straightforward method.
What wallpaper paste do you recommend?
We recommend Polycell, Solvite Extra Strong or Murabond wallpaper pastes.
Is your wallpaper suitable for Bathrooms?
Yes it is! However, it isn't suitable for areas where it will come into direct contact with water. In this instance, we recommend tiling that area or using a splashback to protect the wallpaper from direct water.
How do I calculate how much wallpaper I need?
Another excellent question! Please have a read of our 'How much wallpaper do I need?' page for guidance. Alternatively, you can always reach out to us for help with this.
Can you custom colour your wallpaper for me?
Unfortuantely not. Each wallpaper design has been through a long and extensive sampling process before it is ready to be sold. It isn't possible to recolour and go through this process for bespoke colourways, as it is honestly just too expensive and labour intensive.
Do you have samples of your wallpaper?
Yes!! You can browse and purchase all wallpaper samples here.
Is April Mawhinney an interior designer?
Nope! As much as she loves designing wallpapers and fabrics, designing rooms and interiors is not something she does.
Do you do colour consultations?
No, we don't. However, April is always happy to help with recommending paint colours that may coordinate with her wallpapers.
Do you sell peel-and-stick wallpaper?
No we don't. As it is made from vinyl (plastic) we have chosen not to offer this, as it is less sustainable and less environmentally friendly.
What is eco-friendly about your wallpaper?
We work with a U.K. based wallpaper production company who print everything to order. This means there is no over production, no wasted materials and no extra energy being used. We only printed what is needed.

What are the wash care instructions for your fabric?
Wash on a delicate machine cycle at 30 °C / 85F.
Delicate tumble cycle on a low heat. Iron on a medium heat using steam, ironing print side down for best results. Do not bleach. Drip dry. Do not wring. Shrinkage estimated 4-8%. Washing instructions are provided as guidelines only and are subject to your own testing.
Is the fabric light fast?
All printed and dyed fabric is never 100% lightfast when exposed to direct sunlight, and we do recommend lining curtains and blinds to protect the fabric, and keeping our printed fabrics out of direct sunlight for as long as possible. But the good news is; our fabrics are printed using a process that provides a high level of lightfastness, so if correctly looked after, they will retain their colour and vibrancy.
